The Pivot 5G is an outdoor network repeater that addresses mmWave coverage challenges by capturing and redirecting mmWave signals from the base station around obstacles like buildings. By extending the range of base stations, Pivot 5G, by virtue of its small size, easy permitting, low power consumption and no requirement for fiber, reduces base station CAPEX, ongoing OPEX, siting costs and deployment time by minimizing the number of base stations. Using Pivot 5Gs, network coverage can grow organically along with revenue.
The Pivot 5G is essential to Pivotal Turnkey, an end-to-end solution for planning and deploying fixed wireless access (FWA) on existing mobile mmWave networks. Pivot 5Gs navigate mmWave signals around obstacles, lighting up Multi-Dwelling Units and single family homes that were previously out of the coverage area of nearby gNBs. Deploying Pivot 5Gs in conjunction with base stations allows operators to reach indoor and outdoor coverage objectives more effectively than using base stations alone.
The Pivot's small footprint rapidly accelerates the permitting process and Pivots can be installed in as little as 90 minutes. This makes them more desirable to municipalities vs. small cells, which are larger, more aesthetically obtrusive, and often require the construction of new poles or the laying of fiber.
