The Pivotal Commware mmWave Ecosystem
Pivotal created the world’s first product ecosystem to solve millimeter wave’s most vexing challenges.
Pivotal’s mmWave ecosystem is orchestrated by WaveScape™, a network modeling tool that provides network operators with precise placement of network elements, such as repeaters and 5G base stations, i.e., gNBs, to optimize network connectivity performance for subscribers and to minimize total cost of ownership for the operator. WaveScape shows how Pivots and Echos, deployed in conjunction with gNBs, reach more subscribers at less cost than deploying gNBs alone. This way, operators can grow mobile and fixed wireless access (FWA) coverage organically along with revenue.
The mmWave ecosystem includes two precision beamforming repeaters:
- Pivot 5G® network repeater for cost-effectively extending and shaping gNB mmWave signals outdoors. Pivots expand the coverage of high capacity, fiber-connected gNBs beyond line-of-sight.
- Echo 5G™ subscriber repeater for penetrating and flooding mmWave indoors with native 5G new radio (NR) connectivity.
Pivotal’s product line-up concludes with the Intelligent Beam Management System (IBMS) for network status and optimization. IBMS combines machine learning with smart repeaters to manage network changes predictably and in real time.
Before Deploying Pivot and Echo
Seven base stations provide 20% indoor coverage to one square kilometer. To achieve 80% indoor coverage with base stations alone would require 21 additional base stations at a cost of $1,822 per subscriber.
After Deploying Pivot and Echo
The same seven base stations provide 80% indoor coverage when deployed with Echo 5Gs and Pivot 5Gs at a cost of $468 per subscriber. Download our whitepaper or watch our video for more details.
