What type of power does the Pivot 5G need?

How far can the Pivot 5G be from the power source, and what kind of wiring is necessary?

This depends on the configuration requirements of the site. Please contact Pivotal support for further information.

Is there a power back-up option?

No, Not at this time

How far can I place the Donor Unit (DU) from the Service Unit (SU)?

  1. Single Sector: The DU and SU are connected by 17-foot RF cables.
  2. Dual sector: One set of 7-foot cables runs from the DU to a splitter and then 2 sets of 7-foot cables run to the 2 DUs.

Can I place DU outdoors and SU indoors to serve as a Distributed Antenna System?

How well does the Pivot 5G work through windows?

Performance thru windows will vary greatly based on the type of window, in general it will see a loss somewhere between 5-30db

Do I really need clear Line of Sight (LOS) to gNB to achieve desirable performance out of Pivot?

Yes, a clear LOS is needed for the Pivot DU and gNB.

How do I find modem-related details?

Modem-related details are found in IBMS under the Connection Status section.

Monitoring


How can I tell if the Pivot 5G repeater is working?

Verify that the device is active and reporting in IBMS, Check KPIs and general health of the device, and make sure there are no alarms present on the device.

How do I know if the Pivot 5G repeater is not working?

Alarms show for the device, KPIs drop, or the device is showing offline.

Why is my Pivot 5G unit only transmitting at 20 dBm max?

20 dBm is the max rating of the power amplifier on the device.

Why do I see such large power swings in the Pivot 5G metrics? Is there a problem with the repeater?

Power will change throughout the day based on changes to the environment, signal strength from the gNB, and the utilization of the Pivot.

My device is showing as Offline. Is this cause for alarm?

This may be due to a communication issue with the device. This does not necessarily mean that the Pivot is offline. Perform basic troubleshooting and contact Pivotal Support for further assistance.

What data is available for display in IBMS? Descriptions?
